The Earthwise gallery encompasses environmental issues that affect the world, including acid rain, animal testing, endangered species, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), global warming, greenhouse gases, over-fishing, pesticides and nuclear waste storage. The Earthwise gallery demonstrates that human progress often results in negatively impacting the planet's ecology. What's needed is for all of us to become more environmentally aware and committed to change.
The Collection related works (directly linked to the Earthwise gallery) include a number of provocative works. Brooke Thomas' Blood Money shows the politics of greed vs. ecological responsibility. Jan Dvorak's Mad Cow Disease demonstrates the foolish practice of recycling animal waste products into the food chain. Beckie Lee's In Research We Trust, is an ironic portrayal of animal testing cruelty.
