Description: A logo should reflect the philosophy and public image of a company or organization. YouthVisions aspires in spirit and practice to set a benchmark standard for websites created and maintained by youth. The Guggenheim, the L'Ouvre, and the Vancouver Art Gallery inspired the layout of the site. The logo likewise had to live up to these elite expectations.
Version #1 (blue on blue) is comprised of three primary elements: two interlocking letters and an eyeball. The "Y" and "V" graphic elements resemble a fish or an Egyptian ankh among other things. The eyeball serves as a design metaphor for vision. Variations in colour, gradients and texture add further interest to the static form. For example, versions #2 and #3 have industrial qualities reminiscent of major automobile manufacturer trademark symbols. Overall, the design is minimalist, easily recognizable, memorable and aesthetically pleasing.
