Description: 1998 Elements & Principles of Design Art Show: The Menagerie [Curriculum & Instructional Services, Surrey]. Elements and Principles of Design. Menagerie #3 is a contrasting tone - black and white - design problem that uses simplification, as well as closure principles. Figure and ground relations are also introduced here. Additional challenge may be added by incorporating negative and positive reversals, and or multiple points of view. The forms are streamlined and stylized. The media are black and white construction paper and white pencil crayon.
